Argh.

So I had taken a couple days off from writing anything in this blog and was feeling guilty so I -- feeling incredibly motivated -- sat myself down yesterday and wrote out a fairly lengthy entry, when, for some stupid reason, I decided to click on some link on the page without saving my post and DELETED THE WHOLE THING!!! AAAAUUGGHH. Anyway, I wasn't quite motivated enough to type my brilliant and wise thoughts out a second time, so I abandoned the project and went to Target instead.

And then, feeling motivated yet again (two days in a row!), I was all set to accomplish many tasks that I have been putting off for days/weeks: head to the Courthouse to renew my car registration, go to the post office to mail off my resume to the KSO and send my car payment, make a copy of my keys for Josh who is taking over my apartment lease this summer, drop by the public library to find some good quality reading for the summer, etc etc. And then Scott informed me that none of these places were going to be open today because it is Memorial Day. Double ARGH. So I guess the moral of this story is that I should be perfectly content with my lazy and inconsequential existence for the time being because the universe just does not want me to be productive right now. Right? Ok, I'll probably add more to this post later seeing as how I will probably be going stir-crazy fairly soon...

Agave Azul: Two thumbs up!

First of all, Happy Birthday to my older brother Carlo!!! Where's my wireless router, yo? Hope you're having fun in San Jose.

My 25th birthday was good times, my friends. I had lunch with my good buddy Ben at Mangia in Farragut by Super Target (Yay! Super Target!!). Had a nice little chat with my former clarinet teacher, Gary, who had too good a time informing me that I was now a "quarter-of-a-century old." GAAAH!!! I said, "Next thing, it'll be social security and retirement!" Haha.

Anyway, the official celebration was during dinner. Agave Azul on Kingston Pike ROCKS!!! The food is good, the prices are low and, most important of all, their margaritas are the size of my head! I was joined by Scott, Ben, Jim, Matt, Taylor, and Aaron & Karen (who very kindly gave me a box of chocolates and a birthday card. Aaron: you're cool, but I can't for the life of me comprehend your penmanship...) At the end of dinner, Scott ordered me the "Birthday Package" from the menu which included a "dessert, instant picture and birthday song." Sounds delightful and harmless, right? Well, as the waiters came out banging an assortment of pots and pans, I was given an order of flan with a big dollop of whipped cream. As they finished singing "Happy Birthday" to me, one waiter took a huge spoonful of whipped cream and smeared it all over my face! Before long, it escalated into a whipped cream battle between me and Scott and, with the remainder of my precious birthday flan ending up on my lap, one of the waiters took a picture. Awesome.

After Agave, we headed to OCI (with a brief detour in between...wink wink, nudge nudge) and met up with Tim & Kathleen, April and Elizabeth. Incidentally: Happy Birthday to Elizabeth today as well! We were served by an incompetent bartender who insisted on kicking us out of the place before midnight by telling us, "It's Miller Time." Come again? Whatever. So that's the story of my 25th birthday. Fairly low key, but enjoyable nonetheless. By the way, to my older sister Kristina: I didn't even have a hangover this morning, so there! I'm a champion!!

Happy Birthday to me!!!

"It's my birthday! Yaaay!! Yay, it's my birthday!! I wanna come to Chuckie Cheese. Yayyy! I love Chuckie and I love cheese, too. Yayyy!! I like Chuckie and I like cheese! Yeah, so I like Chuckie Cheese!! Yaaayy! I love cheese. Cheese makes me poo, though. Yayy! That's great! Um, I think I just made a poop ...cause it's my birthday, yayyyyy!! It's my birthday and I just pooped. Yaaayyy!"

Well well well. So this is what it feels like to be 25. Not much different from 24, I say. Only more... squared. Get it? Ay caramba, I need a life. Good things about turning 25:

1. My car insurance goes down! Yeah, take it, GEICO!!
2. Umm...

Is it bad that I can't think of anything else?

Looking forward to having dinner with my friends tonight at this Mexican restaurant in Knoxville called Agave Azul. It's got a tequila bar! Good times. ...But not TOO good, in case my parents are reading this. Ha ha. Off to run some errands (maybe buy myself a little cute number to wear to dinner...) and brainstorm some more good points about turning 25.

Wilkommen! This is truly comical...

What's up, party people? I cannot believe I'm actually attempting to start my own blog site. Has my existence really degenerated to this state? Is this what happens when you graduate from college? I thought I was cooler than this. ...Wait, no I didn't. Higher education, thou hast failed me! *sigh* Oh well. This seems to be the thing to do these days and lord knows I am one to follow every trend that surfaces (That was meant to be sarcastic). We'll so how long I can actually keep this blog going. Honestly, if this lasts for more than a week I will consider it a massive success.

Oh, and by the way (an homage to a former musicology professor... Stockton people, you know what I'm talking about), if you are a) a foodie, or b) have nothing better to do with your lives and want to check out another cool blog, check out my friend Sarah's: http://www.braisinhussy.com It is exceptionally witty and chock-full of food-related posts. She also talks a lot about anime and D&D (nerd!!!), but I just skip over those parts :) J/K, J/K.

Okay, what should my first official post be about? Hmmm... I would love for it to be something brilliant and/or hilarious, thereby setting my blog site apart from the zillions of other blog sites in the universe as being extraordinarily witty, intelligent, entertaining and all-in-all magically delicious. But it won't be.

Okay, maybe I'll just make this an introductive (Did I just make that word up?) entry...

So, I am a twenty-something year old (officially mid-twenties starting tomorrow! Gah!!) who has just recently graduated with a Master's degree in Music -- clarinet, to be precise. Licorice stick, if you're really cool -- and am now reaping the benefits of my costly education by being penniless, jobless and soon-to-be homeless. But, hey, at least I can play a mean clarinet and that's all the consolation I need... Psych! This sucks. I will have to figure out a way to fix this situation by the end of summer or I will be royally screwed. Oh, woe is me! Why did I choose the life of a musician?! Why? WHYYYY??!! ...Anyway, I am a California girl (Pardon me as I take a moment to feel nostalgic and homesick. ...I miss the ocean and my family. ... Ok, I'm done now) who has been whisked away and transplanted to a place that isn't California, but nice just the same. Here's a hint: "Wish that I was on ol' Rocky Top... something something something. Something something something... Rocky Top! You'll always be home sweet home to meeeee. Good ol' Rocky Top -- WOO! -- Rocky Top Tennessee." That's pretty much the extent of my knowledge of that song. Seriously, after 2.5 years of living here. If anyone from Tennessee reads this, please don't kill me. If I -- for some unexpected reason -- end up keeping this site for an extended period of time, I'm sure I will be keeping you posted on my tragic state of jobless-ness and ongoing search for a source of income. Anyone out there need a clarinet player? You folks at the Berlin Phil? I took four semester of German in undergrad! Ich spiele die Klarinette sehr gut. Achtung baby! Come on!

Ok, lest I fall into complete stream-of-consciousness, I will sign-off for the time being and (hopefully) continue this tomorrow. Or sometime.
